A man in Pakistan's Punjab province allegedly chopped off
the nose of a 19 years old girl who refused to marry him, according to the police.
Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Bahawalnagar district, 350 km
from provincial capital Lahore, told police that Nadeem, a farmer of his
village, wanted to marry his daughter. "On my refusal, Nadeem and his
father and two other accomplices entered my house and subjected me, my wife and
daughter to severe torture," a sobbing Bashir said.
"They also cut off my daughter's nose, shouting that
she would now remain unmarried for the rest of her life."
A case has been registered under sections of the Pakistan
Penal Code against the accused.
