Niagara Waterfalls

The Niagara falls is one of the greatest and beautiful water fall in the world. It is the name for three waterfalls that straddle between the Canadian Province of Ontario and the U.S state of New York. The three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls lie on the Canadian side and the American Falls on the American side, and the Bridal Veil Falls are also on the American side. Most interesting and famous waterfalls in the world.

Most of the tallest falls in the world have very little water flowing over them. It's the combination of height and volume that makes Niagara Falls so breathtaking. The rapids above the falls reach a maximum speed of 40 km/hr or 25 mph, with the fastest speeds occur at the falls themselves (recorded up to 68 mph.)

Niagara River which drains into Lake Ontario. Total height of the fall is 167 ft (51m). The Niagara Falls are very wide. More than 6 million cubic feet (168,000 m3) of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow, and almost 4 million cubic feet (110,000 m3) on average. The features that became Niagara Falls were created by the Wisconsin glaciations about 10,000 years ago.
