1967 Ferrari sells
for $27.5m and set world record
A lively bidding
session at a California car auction on Saturday 17 August 2013 ended
with a record setting $27.5 million sale of a rare 1967 Ferrari. The sale sets
the world record for highest
price ever paid for a Ferrari at auction and highest price ever paid for any
road car at auction. The sale was
handled by RM Auctions in Monterey.
The red Ferrari
275 GTB/4*S NART Spider was one of 10 ever built. It was owned by a North
Carolina millionaire and former mayor of Lexington- N.C. The car’s single
family ownership helped increase the interest and the price report said.
