Chinese Doctors have grown a new nose on a man's
forehead. Plastic surgeons say such
transplants are not anything new.
Xiaolin, 22 years old man from Fuzhou China met in a car
accident and suffered permanent damage to the cartilage in his nose through
infection. Nine months ago, doctors decided to make a new nose on his forehead.
Dr. Patrick Byrne, the director of facial plastic and
reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins says, such surgeries are not as odd as
they might seem.
The patient lost part of his nose in an accident in August
2012 and did not immediately have any reconstruction surgery because he
couldn't afford it. An infection later ate away much of his nose cartilage.
