During the Sinhala and Tamil festival season in Sri Lanka around 81 people were killed in 65 fatal accidents within 10 days, from 10th - 19th of April 2014, according to the SL Police.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said 650 other
accidents that caused minor injuries were also reported. Besides, 1800 motorist
were arrested for drunken driving.
