The customs at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International
Airport has seized a stock of gold worth nearly 60 million rupees which was
been smuggled to Sri Lanka.
The airport customs said a couple from Wattala who was
arriving from Singapore was arrested with the gold. 11.8kg of gold have been
found in their possession.
Meanwhile the Sri Lanka customs says that foreign
currency worth nearly 60 million rupees were confiscated during 9 raids carried
