Pakistan’s all-rounder annd opener Mohammad Hafeez was
Sunday ruled out of the World Cup after suffering an ankle injury.
The 34-year-old suffered the injury during the second one-day international against New Zealand in Napier last week and has been advised to take three weeks' rest.
Opener Nasir Jamshed is set to replace him in the squad, after he was approved
by the ICC's Event Technical Committee. Hafeez is the second Pakistani player
to miss the tournament with an injury, after Junaid Khan.
