Sri Lanka’s 1st cable car project to launch by end of 2025


The Sri Lankan first Cable car projects that operate more than a kilometre between two mountains without any support are rare in the world. The Sri Lankan people will have the chance to experience this rare opportunity by end of this year 2025.

Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong visited Ambuluwawa for an inspection of the project and met the Chairman of Ambuluwawa Trust and Parliamentarian Anuradha Jayaratne.

The first cable car project in the country covering a distance of 1.8 km between Ambuluwawa Religious and Biodiversity Complex to the summit of Ambuluwawa Hill in Gampola and from there to Ambuluwawa Agrarian Tower is a joint venture of Chinese and American investors. The first phase of this project is to be completed by October this year.
