Top 10 loneliest countries in the world

A global study on emotional well-being and social isolation across 36 countries published by JB.com ranked Turkey as the world's loneliest country in 2026. With India placing second. The rankings reflect emotional disconnection and social isolation rather than physical space, showing that high population density does not prevent loneliness.

The report also found that more than 37% of Indians frequently experience sadness, the highest figure among the top five countries in the ranking.
