Argentinean footballer Lionel Messi becomes first player to be crowned as world's best footballer by FIFA continuously in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The world best player receives the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2012 award during the FIFA Ballon d'Or awards ceremony in Zurich on January 7, 2013

The 25 year old Messi has broken number of records in 2012 and ended the year 2012 with 91 goals and beat the previous record 85 goals by Germany's Gerd Muller in 1972. To win his fourth title in a row he beat his colleague Andres Iniesta, Real Madrid's and Cristiano Ronaldo to an award voted for by national coaches, captains and journalists. Massi got 41.60% of the votes, Ronaldo on 23.68% and Iniesta 10.91%.
