The Sri Lankan film “Sri Siddhartha Gautama” has won the Best
Film Award at Delhi Film Festival in December 2013.
The much-hyped epic Sinhala movie “Sri Siddhartha Gautama”
which enjoyed a successful run in Sri Lanka, won the award for the best film in
the World Cinema category at the Delhi International Film Festival in India. Twenty-Nine
countries had contended for this title.
Meanwhile, Navin Gunaratne who produced the film on
behalf of the Light of Asia Foundation also given a special award for his role
as producer.
