Rangana Herath has become the first left-arm bowler in
Test history to take 09 wickets in an innings after his spectacular performance
against Pakistan today-16 August 2014.
At the SSC ground Rangana's nine wicket haul for 127
crippled the Pakistan batting line.
Before Herath, the best performance by a left-arm bowler
in a Test innings was by England’s Johnny Briggs with eight wickets conceding
11 runs against South Africa in 1889.
Herath also becomes the first Sri Lankan to bag a nine
wicket haul in a Test match, after Muttiah Muralitharan's performance in 2002.
