World’s tallest bridge opens for traffic in China


The world’s Highest Bridge has officially opened for traffic in China on 28th September 2025. And setting a new Engineering record in the world. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, located in Guizhou Province, spans 625m above the canyon floor. This makes it the tallest bridge ever built, surpassing China’s own previous record-holding bridges.

Designed as a suspension bridge, it reduces travel time across the canyon from two hour to just two minutes. Chinese engineers highlight the project as a major achievement in infrastructure development and transportation efficiency. Reports from Xinhua and engineering experts confirm that this bridge is now the highest in the world. 

The project has become the world's longest-span steel truss girder suspension bridge in mountainous terrain, according to Guizhou provincial authorities. Spanning the Huajiang Grand Canyon, dubbed "the Earth's crack," the 2,890-meter-long structure is the latest addition to the rapidly expanding infrastructure network of the world's second-largest economy.
