Around 27,117 volunteers from the Bangladesh Army,
educational institutions and the general public stood up with red and green
placards to form the national flag in Dhaka's National Parade Ground to mark
the country’s Victory Day in Dhaka on 16 December 2013.
The participants stood there for 6 minutes 16 seconds, setting
the new world record for the Largest human national flag, according to report. Tens
of thousands of Bangladeshi volunteers have formed the world's biggest national
flag in a bid to breach Guinness World Records' record.
The previous record for
the largest human national flag consisted of 24,200 participants and was
achieved by members of the public attending the Punjab Youth Festival in the
National Hockey Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan.
